This page exists to answer one question honestly: should you buy the harness now, or wait for November? Most Black Friday pages answer it by inventing a percentage. We answer it by looking at what the brands we cover actually do — their own sale pages, and documented markdowns from past events — and by telling you where we simply couldn’t find a pattern. Every claim below carries the date we checked it, and the sources are listed at the bottom.

The picks in the table are the site’s current top pick in each category, with the same live, dated price you’ll find on their roundups. When Amazon reports a discount on a listing, the button shows the list price struck through and the percentage off — that comes from the live feed, not from us, and it disappears on its own when the deal ends. If you see no strike-through, there is no discount right now, whatever a coupon site says.

What historically goes on sale — and what rarely does

We looked for two things for each brand we cover: a documented markdown on a core product during a past Black Friday, and what the brand’s own sale page looked like off-season (we read them on September 13, 2026). Here is what we found, and what we didn’t.

Ruffwear — the one documented Black Friday pattern

Ruffwear is the brand where a real event markdown on a core harness is on record: a deals roundup published November 25, 2025 listed the Front Range Harness at $41 against a $55 list price during Black Friday week, alongside more Ruffwear deals sitewide. Off-season, it’s a different story: Ruffwear’s own Specials page in September 2026 had apparel and seasonal gear marked down 30–50%, but the Front Range, Web Master and Load Up harnesses were not on it. Read together: Ruffwear’s core harnesses tend to discount at the big event, not in the clearance bin. One year is one data point, not a promise — but it’s the strongest pattern in this category.

PetSafe (Easy Walk, Gentle Leader) — cheap year-round, deals elsewhere

PetSafe’s own deals page in September 2026 was big-ticket items — GPS fences, automatic litter boxes, remote trainers, pet doors. The Easy Walk and Gentle Leader weren’t on it. These are inexpensive, everywhere, and the Amazon listings pick up small list-price markdowns from time to time regardless of the calendar; when one is on, the buy button shows it. We found no documented Black Friday pattern for either product, and at this price a markdown is a few dollars either way.

Kurgo (Tru-Fit) — outlet discounts other lines

Kurgo runs a permanent Outlet. In September 2026 it carried other harnesses and packs at roughly a quarter off, and listed the Tru-Fit at its regular price. We found no documented Black Friday markdown for the Tru-Fit specifically — that data is unavailable to us, so we won’t guess at one.

Sleepypod (Clickit Sport) — rarely, if ever

Sleepypod’s own product page for the CPS-certified Clickit Sport Plus showed full price and no promotion in September 2026, and we could not find a documented Black Friday discount on it in any past year. That doesn’t mean one has never happened; it means we couldn’t verify one, and neither should you wait on it. If the dog currently rides loose, the safety case doesn’t improve in November.

2 Hounds Design (Freedom) and the Amazon-native brands

2 Hounds’ site in September 2026 showed a free-shipping threshold and no sale on the Freedom harness. The Amazon-native budget brands we cover — rabbitgoo, Tuff Mutt, iYoShop, Max and Neo — live on Amazon, where list-price markdowns come and go outside of any event. The live button is the only honest indicator for those, and we don’t track a Black Friday pattern we can’t document.

Buy now, or wait for November? By product class

Our rule for this category: if the problem is happening now, the gear is cheap, or the gear is a safety device, buy now. Waiting only makes sense for a premium harness you don’t urgently need, bought within a few weeks of the event.

How to sanity-check a “deal” in November

Three checks, in order. Is the strike-through real? Our buy buttons show a struck-through list price only when Amazon reports one on the listing; a coupon site’s “up to 60% off” is a headline, not a price. Is it the right model? Event markdowns often land on a specific color or size; check the listing matches the one our review covers — for the Sleepypod especially, confirm the exact model against the CPS certified list. Does it fit? A harness on sale in the wrong girth is not a saving. Measure first (here’s how), then buy.

How this page works in November

When a deal goes live on gear we cover, it gets posted in the status block at the top of this page, with the date we verified it and a link to the live-priced button. We don’t post a deal we can’t see in the price feed, we don’t post predicted discounts, and when a deal ends the strike-through disappears on its own. When is Black Friday 2026?

Friday, November 27, 2026, with Cyber Monday on Monday, November 30. In 2025 Amazon's own Black Friday Week ran from November 20 through Cyber Monday (December 1); Amazon had not announced its 2026 window when we last checked. We'll update the status block on this page when it does.

Do dog harnesses go on sale for Black Friday?

Some do. The one documented pattern we found in the gear we cover is Ruffwear, whose Front Range Harness was listed at $41 against a $55 list price during Black Friday week 2025. Budget harnesses like the PetSafe Easy Walk and rabbitgoo pick up small Amazon markdowns throughout the year rather than a big event drop. For the Kurgo Tru-Fit and the Sleepypod Clickit Sport we could not find a documented Black Friday discount.

Should I wait for Black Friday to buy a no-pull harness?

Usually not. Budget and mid-range no-pull harnesses have no documented Black Friday pattern in our research, a markdown would be a few dollars, and the dog is pulling now. The exception is a premium Ruffwear harness you don't urgently need, bought within a few weeks of the event — that's the one class where waiting has a documented upside.

Yes — in the status block at the top of this page, each with the date we verified it. We only post deals we can see in the live price feed; we never post predicted discounts or percentages we can't verify, and the struck-through list price in each buy button disappears on its own when a deal ends.

Are the prices on this page live?

Yes. Every buy button pulls its price from Amazon daily and shows the date it was checked. If Amazon reports a discount, the list price appears struck through with the percentage off.
