Editorial Policy

Leash Loam is a small, independent publisher with one job: help you buy the right dog walking gear and skip the wrong stuff. That only works if you can trust what you read here, so this page sets out the standards we hold every page to — how picks are chosen, how pages are kept current, and the lines we will not cross.

How we choose a pick

Every recommendation on Leash Loam is decided on published specifications and buyer fit — never on commission. We compare products on the things that determine how they perform (clip position, strap layout, girth range, materials, buckle type, safety certification) and on which dog and budget each one actually suits. A product that pays us more does not move up the list; a cheaper product that fits the buyer better wins. The step-by-step version of this is our methodology, and the money side is spelled out in our affiliate disclosure.

How and when we update

• Prices are re-verified on a daily check and stamped with the date they were pulled. A price that stops updating expires rather than going stale.
• Picks are revisited when the field changes— a product is discontinued, re-sized, or redesigned, or a better option arrives. Each page shows a “last verified” date so you can see how current it is.
• Corrections are made promptly when a reader or our own review turns up an error.

What we will never do

These rules are not negotiable:

• No fake reviews or ratings. There are no invented testimonials, star scores, or before-and-after stories anywhere on this site.
• No stale prices. We date every price and let it expire rather than mislead you with an old number.
• No invented credentials.Leash Loam is written by a dog-gear enthusiast, not a certified trainer or a veterinarian, and we never claim a hands-on test or a lab we don’t run.
• We split certified from tested.For car harnesses we clearly separate products that are independently CPS-certified from those a brand has crash-tested itself — we never present the second as the first.
• No fabricated facts.Every factual claim is sourced; a claim we can’t back up doesn’t ship.
